Not sure why my ketones are down today. I did really well yesterday. The only hiccup was I didn’t have any Keto Chow ready for dinner time which was OK since my wife had gotten me a bunless burger from Five Guys (with the free extra bacon and extra cheese, naturally). Whatever. Today was spent mostly mixing and packaging Keto Chow for the coming week. We got enough done today we won’t need to do much tomorrow so I might actually get something done around the house!
You always have 0.1-0.5 ketones. Doesn’t this mean you’re never really in ketosis? Shouldn’t it be around 1-3?
It means I’ve been a bit of a slacker, for optimal ketosis you want it in the 1-3 range. When I do very strictly stick to my diet it gets up to 1.5.
I see. I should get me one of those meters, just to see where my levels are. I feel like I must be deep into my ketosis now, but seeing the cold, hard facts would be cool.
You can usually get the meters for free, the test strips are insanely expensive though: around $2 per test.
