Calories: 267.4kcal
Author: Taffiny Elrod

Ingredients

  • 1 lb. skin-on salmon filet
  • 2 Tbsp. mild olive oil or avocado oil
  • 6 fresh cloves garlic, chopped
  • Pinch red pepper flakes
  • 1 medium tomato, sliced (6 oz.)
  • 1/4 tsp. kosher slat plus extra for seasoning salmon
  • 1/4 tsp. ground black pepper plus extra for seasoning salmon
  • 1/2 cup dry white wine or 1/2 cup broth with 1 Tbsp. white wine vinegar
  • 1/2 cup warm fish broth or chicken broth
  • 1 serving Creamy Tomato Basil Keto Chow
  • 2 Tbsp. heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup loosely packed fresh basil leaves, cut into thin ribbons, plus extra for garnish

Instructions

  • Trim the salmon, check for any bones and scales, and cut into four equal pieces. Pat the skin of each piece dry and season the flesh side lightly with salt and pepper.
  • Place a large, heavy skillet over medium-high heat. When the pan is hot, add the oil.
  • When the oil is shimmering, carefully place the salmon in the pan skin side down.
  • Allow the salmon to cook undisturbed for about three minutes, or until the salmon begins to look opaque on the sides.
  • Use a pair of tongs to gently test the salmon. If it moves freely, turn it over. If it is stuck to the pan, let it cook for another 30 seconds or more until it frees easily from the pan.
  • Cook the salmon on the other side for another two minutes or until almost fully cooked. It should look opaque almost all the way through and be fairly firm to the touch.
  • Transfer the salmon to a plate and make the sauce.
  • Add chopped garlic to the same pan and cook until it begins to brown lightly. Add the red pepper flake and sizzle in the oil briefly.
  • Add the tomatoes, salt, and pepper to the pan and cook, stirring with a wooden spoon to scrape up anything stuck to the bottom of the pan.
  • When the tomatoes begin to soften, add the white wine to the pan, turn the heat to high and cook, stirring occasionally until the wine is reduced by at least half. Then reduce the heat to low.
  • Mix the Keto Chow with the warm broth, stirring until the Keto Chow is dissolved.
  • Whisk the Keto Chow mixture into the sauce in the pan and mix well.
  • Add the heavy cream and fresh basil and stir together.
  • Place the salmon back in the pan and heat gently until the salmon is warmed through and the sauce is hot. Don’t let the sauce boil.
  • Serve salmon and sauce garnished with fresh basil.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days.

Notes

Notes: Serve with zucchini noodles, or cauliflower rice and a green salad for a Mediterranean inspired plate that will make any meal feel special.

? Keto Chow Flavor of the week: Get 10% off the Creamy Tomato Basil bulk packs Aug 31- Sept 6

Until September 6 you can get 10% off the 21 meal “week” size of the Creamy Tomato Basil Keto Chow. Normally, the Creamy Tomato Basil is $75 for 21 meals, this week it’s discounted down to $67.50 – that’s only $3.21 a meal! You know you want to find some low carb bread, make a grilled cheese sandwich and dip it in some of this. Go for it! Works well with just about every fat we’ve tried including butter, beef tallow, bacon grease, duck fat, heavy cream, avocado oil, and more!

The Tomato Basil (and the other savory flavors) are NOT the same as the sweet flavors. If all you’ve had of Keto Chow so far are the sweet flavors, you might want to grab a sample before you buy the big bag. It should also be noted that the Creamy Tomato Basil Keto Chow is dairy-free, has no sweetener, and is loaded with beef bone broth protein.

We sometimes get asked: “what can I do with Keto Chow besides make soup?” The best place to start is our Keto Chow Recipes page, though you can pretty much stop at the Chaffles recipe: Miriam has been making the Tomato Basil into Chaffles and loving it. Our kids like to use the chaffles made with the Tomato Basil as pizza crusts:

Keto CHow Chaffles as pizza crusts

Here are some of the recipes that use Creamy Tomato Basil Keto Chow:

You should check out the reviews of Keto Chow, we also get a lot of reviews on our Facebook page and on the Keto Chow subreddit. It should be noted that we publish all of the reviews that come in – bad or good – as they are, typos intact. The only ones we remove are spam posts or reviews that divulge personal information. These are just a few of the 167 real reviews we received in the last week

Best Keto Meal Replacement Out There!

For those that struggle with meal prep and the grocery lists that go along with it…this is your answer. Tastes great, easy prep and lots of flavor options.

Ian R.
Amazingly delicious

I have tried several meal replacement shakes but Keto Chow is by far the best tasting !!! I have loved every flavor I’ve tried so far. They not only taste good, but they fill you up and keep you satisfied for hours. I will only use keto chow from now on!

Michelle C.
Love these!

By far my favorite shakes I’ve ever had! Smooth and creamy, not gritty. They’re delicious and a great meal option when I haven’t meal planned or am out and about without keto foods readily available or just need a change up.

Megan K.
This is exactly what I needed!

This stuff is great! It’s got the nutrients, it tastes good, and best of all it actually fills me up! The hardest thing about losing weight for me is my cravings… and I just don’t crave healthy food, but after just a few of these I’ve found myself really looking forward to the next one! I really love these, and the sampler pack was the perfect way to try out a bunch of flavors! I even ended up liking flavors I didn’t expect to like, so I’m extra glad I got the sampler packs. Also, the inclusion of a shaker bottle in the starter bundle was wonderful – I knew I would need one so having it in there was perfect!

Katrina G.
Good “Milk Shakes”

I received my samples in time. The packaging is amazing. You see quality here. Some flavors are just regular (at least for my taste). But others are super yummy. I ordered more. I wanna try lemon meringue and raspberry cheesecake now – And ordered a bulk package of strawberry. I tried chocolate after my order, otherwise, I would have ordered that too. ITS SO GOOD! I did not like banana at all. And I absolutely prefer take it with heavy cream (great!) than coconut oil (I hated that!).
Anyway! Im waiting to have my shakes all day. I loved it!

Julieta B.
Absolutely Amazing

My sister suggested I try Keto Chow and I am so happy she did!!! The taste is AMAZING and it is sooooo filing! I usually make it the night before so it is cold and thick the next day. I am IN LOVE with the Chocolate and Salted Caramel!!!! Will definitely be ordering more and trying new flavors. I love that the sample kit allowed me to try a variety of flavors and the shipping of the regular size bags was super quick!

April L.
Best Low-Carb Protien Shakes I’ve Ever Tasted

Seriously! No grit, no strange taste, blends perfectly. It took me a while to decide to order, but I’m so glad I did. So many flavor choices too… I’m still reeling from Snickerdoodle and Pistacchio! Keep up the great work ?

Brenda R.
Milkshakes for lunch?!

I’m not normally one to be drawn in by Facebook ads, nor am I one for meal replacement shakes, but I couldn’t help myself with that campaign! I typically don’t eat during the day, and when I do, I’m grazing on junk food. This is like having a milkshake for lunch, which I would do, but without the crazy sugar intake and keeps my body from thinking I’m starving and need to store ALL THE CARBS. Its stupid like that. I’m not a fan of the banana, but everything else I’ve tried has been great. It has been the perfect work lunch since I’m likely to skip it otherwise.

Tamera S.
Fabulous product!

Keto Chow tastes AMAZING!!!!! Keeps me full for hours! I’ve already purchased more and I CANNOT wait to try my new flavors.

Carol V.
and now I’m hooked!

I ordered the sample bundle to see how I liked the flavors and mostly, to see if I would want to do this long term. I wanted to test taste, texture, etc to make sure this was live-able for me. Well, a couple days after this purchase I bought a couple big bags and I’m loving it! The sample bundle is a great way to test several flavors with little investment.

Pam K.
It’s LOVE

I can’t begin to tell you how delicious these are. And the support group is priceless. My journey started 3 weeks ago and I’ve already noticed a difference in energy, sleep, weight loss and endurance. So much so that my husband joined me and my son asks for a KC and has his favorites, as do I. All in all, I am so glad I made my purchase and I am now a loyal customer, and it didn’t take long for that to happen.

KAT
Delicious!

I received the sample pack and purchased a few extra flavors to see what I really liked. So far I have enjoyed every single shake. Going to purchase and try the raspberry cheesecake this week. I am very pleased with this product so far.

First time purchase

Purchasing for the first time was pretty easy. I started with the soup and a classic bundle. I made a few shakes at a time and put them in the fridge, for at least overnight before I drank them. They were thick with a smooth texture. I experimented with different fats; butter, coconut oil, avocado oil, heavy cream and ghee. Save yourself and NEVER USE GHEE. For me, it turned into small waxy beads. So far I’ve enjoyed all the flavors. Some more then others. For instance the orange dream was very tasty but I didn’t care for the savory chicken. I just placed another order today. This time I’m trying the Gourmet bundle and the brand new lemon meringue. These shakes are easy to whip up, super tasty and filling. I gave 4 stars because there’s always room for improvement, maybe free shipping, blueberry flavor, power bars…

Dana D.
Absolutely satisfying and delicious

When I receive my order got here pretty quick. It had a smooth texture to it, no chalky taste to it. Only flavor I really didn’t like was vanilla, I’m not much of a vanilla fan but this vanilla did not do well with me. Got the starter pack, most likely will get some more and do a 30 day challenge. Absolutely recommend this to people who want to get into it. I’m on strawberry today and it’s fantastic!?? I also saved the best for last??!

Jagger A.
Reliable on our Keto dieting

My boyfriend introduced me to keto years back and Keto Chow has really helped us move on to reach out goal. It’s a good meal supplement and also the Cookies and Cream one reminds me so much of the Cookies and Cream milkshakes I adored so much when I wasn’t on Keto so thank you for making this, Keto Chow!

Munchkiin
Best Flavor Yet -Lemon Meringue!

Lemon meringue is by far y favorite flavor yet! I was so excited to try this limited edition flavor, and it didn’t disappoint. My only wish is that it becomes a regular flavor. In the meantime I purchased 10 more of the individual packets!

Nicole R.
Great tasting. I was quite surprised and delighted.

I have tried several meal replacement shakes over the last several years. Yours is the most palatable I have found. I can’t wait to try all your flavors to find my favorite.

Pamela W.
It’s good!

Very nice lemony flavor! Made these with heavy cream. As with most KC flavors, they benefit from sitting in the fridge overnight.

Marcus W.
Amazing Vanilla

I absolutely love Keto Chow Vanilla as it is so versatile. I can enjoy it plain or with a splash of orange extract or blended with strawberries or a myriad of other flavors. Let your imagination rule the day! Major YUM!

Christine B.
Enjoying trying all the flavors

I got the sample bundle to try out all the different flavors. I’m glad I did it this way instead of getting a bulk and end up not liking the taste. Some of them are really good and others are not that great, there doesn’t seem to be an in-between. I haven’t tried the soup one yet but looking forward to it as its def a different way to try these all in one keto meals.

Samantha H.
So far, Sooooo good

These are excellent. Flavor and texture are amazing; when prepared correctly. Overnight in the fridge is best. If you have a sensitive stomach at all, I would recommend starting off very slow. They are very yummy and easy to chug. I have to pour mine into cups and drink a little at a time. About 4 oz per “sitting”. I’ve been doing this for 2 days, and then plan on upping the oz’s. I am currently only substituting one meal, lunch. When I get used to the mix, I plan on having these for breakfast & lunch. It has been super easy and very tasty!

Danielle W.
I LOVE KETOCHOW

I lOVE KETOCHOW and I drink it at least once it twice a day. It is the best meal replacement shake I’ve ever had. The taste is the best. Just tried the Lemon Meringue and I vote that they make it in the big bag in the future!

Felicity
Great tasting and very versatile!

This is my favorite savory Keto Chow flavor. It’s good all on its own, but also super easy to change up with different flavorings. I like to add pepper, a little granulated onion, and some sage to mine. It could easily take on other flavor profiles, like Italian, Mediterranean, Latin, or Southern. It always tastes pretty decadent no matter what. I personally like to use salted butter as my fat base, but heavy cream is just as tasty.

Teresa A.
Best Product Ever

I have tried a lot of protein shakes, Keto meal replacements, and others alike. These are the best product. I highly recommend using heavy whipping cream as your fat source with the cold drinks. It makes them taste more like a milkshake with a thick, creamy taste. I decided to try these so I didn’t fail and hit up the fast food while at work. I make it in the morning, drop it in the fridge when I get to work and by lunch time it’s ready! These work perfectly with my lifestyle and helps me maintain healthy food choices.
