I just added a new tool to the Nutrition Information page: a calorie customizer.

It’s simple to use, just put in the calories you want for the day and it’ll tell you how much heavy cream and/or oil to use. It will also tell you how many grams of carbs, protein, and fat you’ll be getting in each meal. It’s pretty awesome =) One thing to note: some of the fine details are different from what you’d get on the nutrition labels – among other things I discovered the protein content and calories for the heavy cream were off by a tiny amount. This calculator is using all the latest information I have available and using the USDA values for Heavy Cream. The heavy cream you use may have slightly different values too (which I think is what happened, I probably had values in for the “Darigold 40” I get from Costco).

The peanut butter flavor has a little more fat, protein, and carbs so it changes the equation.
Butter is slightly less calorie dense so you use 123% the amount you would for oil to get the same amount of calories. How are grams calculated?

This is a tough one because the density varies based on if you're talking about heavy cream or avocado oil. The USDA has a cup of heavy cream weighing 238g and a cup of avocado oil weighing 218g. These same two sources are used for the other measurements used in this calculator (calories, fat, carbs, protein, etc...).

When I was making this form, I noticed this too. Took me a bit to realize why. Heavy cream has carbs and protein along with the fat. If you are trying to get 200 calories (for example), the heavy cream will have less fat and more protein+carbohydrates for that 200 calories, whereas oil is pure fat. Use more oil and the protein and carb content will go down even though the calories stay the same.
