Dave Feldman – Cholesterol research reality check

This entry is part 105 of 131 in the series Ketogenic Diet

In case you aren’t familiar with Dave Feldman, you may want to check out:

At KetoCon he unveiled the results of his new experiment. He hasn’t done the full-write up on the experiment and results yet, though if you purchased the KetoCon presentation video download, they just posted all of the presentation videos late last night and you can watch the presentation. I’m not going to spoil Dave’s big reveal so you may have to wait for him to do an update.

So what does all this have to do with Keto Chow? Way back in October 2015, Dave ordered a week’s worth of Keto Chow. In April 2017 he tried doing an experiment using keto meal replacement shakes to reduce variables and picked Ketolent instead of Keto Chow but said he would try Keto Chow later, which he did (Dave actually got the very first shipment of Chocolate 2.0)  I made sure that there was absolutely no expectation of favoritism or quid-pro-quo – more than that I saw it as an excellent opportunity to get some detailed feedback on how Keto Chow affected insulin levels. Dave reported back that he didn’t see a spike in insulin in his preliminary testing, SCORE! We got to meet up with Dave at KetoFest and talk about his experiments, which is always fun.

In Dave’s Keto Con presentation he thanked PTS Diagnostics, Ketolent, and Keto Chow for helping out with his experiment:

And on his experiment diary slide, well you can see what he was eating:

Straight up ketogenic meal replacement shakes. It allowed him to hit exactly 3000 calories a day including the days that he was adding in the “mystery ingredient” he used to drive down his cholesterol – it was still 3000 calories a day just with a different macronutrient mix. It’s pretty cool to be helping out with some really cool science and making Dave’s experiments easier and more accurate!

Peanut Butter samples out of stock, temp change to sample bundle, Mocha availability update

This entry is part 104 of 131 in the series Ketogenic Diet

Here’s a quick update on product availability. We are currently out of stock on the Chocolate Peanut Butter samples. Because of this, we just pulled Chocolate Peanut Butter from the “Sample all the Things” bundle – it’s either take out PB or not have the sample bundle at all until we get the Peanut Butter samples sometime in October. So we took it out. The price has been lowered accordingly.

Mocha week bags are going into production either today or tomorrow with delivery to us sometime early next week. We should be getting some Mocha on Monday anyway when the stuff we took to Keto Con gets back to us (there’s a dozen or so Mocha in that).

Speaking of Mocha…. I’m not a coffee drinker but if you are, you should really check out Tokelau coffee. it’s essentially “Bulletproof” coffee in a K-cup, complete with MCT oil and everything!

Keto Chow at KetoCon 2017

This entry is part 103 of 131 in the series Ketogenic Diet

I’ve attended, and even worked, booths at a fairly large number of trade show/conferences. This marks the first one I’ve ever PAID for. We really had a lot of fun, met some awesome people, and raised awareness of Keto Chow. Because of the number of photos, I’m going to point you over to this Google Photos gallery. All 4 of us at the conference were able to pop our photos into a shared pool, worked really well to gather them all up =)

Looks like next year Keto Con will be August 24-26, 2018. I’m guessing we’ll be there!

Update on Update on Base Powder Availability

Earlier today I posted that it’s going to be a while before we have the printed packaging for Base Powder, then I talked about trying to get an interim solution (brown bags with thermal printed labels, kinda like the image above^) and that we might have them in a few days.

Just Kidding! Surprisingly the packaging facility pulled off an amazing feat and got us 164 of the base powder TODAY as in: it’s already in stock and available right now. Booyeah.

Flavor of the Week August 28-September 3: 10% off sale on Salted Caramel 2.0.1 week packs

It was only a few weeks ago that we didn’t even have Salted Caramel in stock, now it’s available and on sale. For the next week, you can get 10% off the 21 meal “week” size of Salted Caramel 2.0.1. Check out the flavor reviews of 2.0 Salted Caramel!

Speaking of reviews, you should check out our store reviews on Google, and the reviews of Keto Chow. Here’s a “taste”:

Easy to mix with a blender bottle. I love that I don’t need to worry about nutrition or supplements when I use Keto Chow. I feel much better about the Keto diet while using this to supplement one meal a day. Although, it tastes so good I could use it for all meals. But, I like to eat and it is partially a social thing.

Here’s another, should be noted that I publish all of the reviews that come in – bad or good – as they are, typos intact. The only ones I remove are spam posts from people wanting you to buy pills to “enhance performance” and such:

My bag of Keto Chow powder came very quickly; the website was easy to use and navigate. I found the video helpful and informative. I am looking forward to see how Keto Chow works for me. I mixed up my first bottle tonight after work; will enjoy it tomorrow morning for breakfast. I did sneak a small taste before bed-delicious.

Keto Chow at the “Zombie ApocEclipse”

This entry is part 101 of 131 in the series Ketogenic Diet

Yesterday we packed up enough food (Keto Chow =), water, cash, fuel, and portable toilets to last for at least a day and drove to Idaho to watch the Eclipse. To start: yeah, it was totally worth it. If you’re around in 2024 or 2045, do not miss the next one!

We left at 02:19 and arrived at our destination just before 6 AM in Terreton, Idaho. We had originally planned to go to the exact center-line of the path of totality in the middle of nowhere but after talking with my dad, who was doing a photography workshop for the eclipse in Wyoming, we decided to use his “backup location” and try for either the High School (which was blocked off), or a church (which wasn’t blocked off, had a nice lawn to sit on, was free, AND had a bathroom we were able to use) – so we went to the church =).

The orange in the map above is when we were driving faster than 70 miles per hour (112 kph) – which actually made up the majority of the trip. In all we drove 666 miles over 11 hours and 33 minutes. If we had tried to go home through Idaho Falls it probably would have taken just as long (or longer) – and we got to see Craters of the Moon National Monument as well.

Anyhow, how does Keto Chow fit into this? I brought along 8 meals of Keto Chow in a cooler, enough to last myself and my wife for 4 meals each. We ended up having two each. They were easy to pack and I didn’t have any worry at all about finding keto friendly food. Salted Caramel was quite tasty after a morning spent waiting for the eclipse!

This is the shortened version of the 360 video I recorded yesterday – only 4 minutes long. Covers about a minute before totality, totality and just after.

Please participate in the 2017 “Complete Food” Survey.

This entry is part 3 of 131 in the series Ketogenic Diet

Please take 5-15 minutes to answer some questions about Keto Chow and any other “complete foods” you’ve tried.

For the last few years, there’s been a yearly survey to get some additional information about (s)oylent type foods, including Keto Chow. If you have a couple minutes, please participate in the survey. There are a bunch of coupon codes at the end (including $10 off Keto Chow) and your responses will help give insight into where we should be heading. Last year I was able to get some really interesting data in my own analysis (you can check that out here: Results from soylent eater’s survey – keto and gender analysis)

Here is the survey: https://www.surveybuilder.com/s/okZgK

New this year: we’re running a contest to help find a name for the industry. We’re offering a $1000 prize to the first person to suggest a name that captures people’s imagination. If you don’t want to take the full survey and would prefer to only participate in the naming contest, that’s here.

For the next week, you can get 10% off the 21 meal “week” size of Vanilla 2.0.1. Check out the reviews of 2.0 Vanilla!

Speaking of reviews, you should check out our store reviews on Google, and the reviews of Keto Chow. Here’s a “taste”:

I am so glad I found keto chow. I am starting a major weighloss / lifestyle change journey. I am a mom of 2 and my hubby and I work total opposite schedules and to be honest I suck at meal prep. I knew in order to make this change and succeed I would need something quick, easy and yummy and I found all those things in keto chow. I am a huge fan!

Here’s another, should be noted that I publish all of the reviews that come in – bad or good – as they are, typos intact. The only ones I remove are spam posts from people wanting you to buy pills to “enhance performance” and such:

My husband and I have found the one thing that is making it so much easier to figure out and stay in ketosis! We have found something that makes all the difference in the world for newbie “keto-ers”! What is the secret yu ask? Keto Chow! We have loved it so much we are recommending and buyint the sample pack for all of our friends who are now asking us what we are doing to lose our weight. Some say they have tried it but have a hard time sticking to it past five days. This is exactly what happened to us until we found Keto Chow! This product has made life so simple and so enjoyable to stay on that we have both make it to the 2 month mark and 20 pounds lighter! Our favorites are chocolate peanut butter, and strawberry. We love to mix berries in with the strawberry and feel like we are still getting our fruit fix. The chocolate peanut butter tastes so good we feel like we are still getting our Reese’s fix. Thank you Keto Chow for helping me to stay on the Keto Diet to truly change mine and my husband’s life!

Happy Eclipse Day! Dunno about you, but I’ll be headed to Idaho for the “Zombie Apocalypse” with a cooler full of food (mostly Keto Chow), extra 22 gallons of fuel, and a portable toilet =) Big shout out to our employees that will be shipping out orders!

It’s Salted Caramel time!

Man, yesterday it was the finished Sample/Individual Meals, today it’s the 21 meal “week” bags of Salted Caramel – a full day earlier than we expected!

I got home from work and almost immediately headed to the Keto Chow warehouse to wait for the delivery truck. While I was waiting I killed some time by taking 360 spherical photos of the Keto Chow warehouse plus some of the CrossFit gym next door. I also had some fun with a thermal camera and the portable A/C – turns out the cold part gets really cold and the hot part gets really hot! Anyway, the delivery truck showed up and I used the reach truck forklift to get 6 pallets of Salted Caramel. That should last for a bit =)

So, if you’ve been waiting for Salted Caramel, it’s ready and waiting (now we just need Mocha back in stock – that might be a week or more, unfortunately).

Final Packaged Keto Chow 2.0 Samples Finally Available

This entry is part 99 of 131 in the series Ketogenic Diet

So if you were confused today and thought it was December 2016, I could have a potential explanation: December 2016 was when we were originally supposed to have the samples of Keto Chow 2.0 ready. Back then I was actually worried that the packaging was taking so long to get printed and didn’t want it to delay the launch. Had someone told me then that we wouldn’t actually get them until mid-August 2017 I might have given up =(

Today the wait is over! We now have the final finished Keto Chow 2.0.1 samples. Fun fact: even though some say 2.0 and some say 2.0.1, they’re all 2.0.2 (sunflower lecithin instead of soy lecithin). We got some of the flavors yesterday and the rest today, did some quality control to verify the viscosity, took some photos and now they’re ready to go! We also have the “Sample all the Things!” variety bundle in stock.
