Peanut Butter samples out of stock, temp change to sample bundle, Mocha availability update

This entry is part 104 of 131 in the series Ketogenic Diet

Here’s a quick update on product availability. We are currently out of stock on the Chocolate Peanut Butter samples. Because of this, we just pulled Chocolate Peanut Butter from the “Sample all the Things” bundle – it’s either take out PB or not have the sample bundle at all until we get the Peanut Butter samples sometime in October. So we took it out. The price has been lowered accordingly.

Mocha week bags are going into production either today or tomorrow with delivery to us sometime early next week. We should be getting some Mocha on Monday anyway when the stuff we took to Keto Con gets back to us (there’s a dozen or so Mocha in that).

Speaking of Mocha…. I’m not a coffee drinker but if you are, you should really check out Tokelau coffee. it’s essentially “Bulletproof” coffee in a K-cup, complete with MCT oil and everything!

Keto Chow at KetoCon 2017

This entry is part 103 of 131 in the series Ketogenic Diet

I’ve attended, and even worked, booths at a fairly large number of trade show/conferences. This marks the first one I’ve ever PAID for. We really had a lot of fun, met some awesome people, and raised awareness of Keto Chow. Because of the number of photos, I’m going to point you over to this Google Photos gallery. All 4 of us at the conference were able to pop our photos into a shared pool, worked really well to gather them all up =)

Looks like next year Keto Con will be August 24-26, 2018. I’m guessing we’ll be there!

Flavor of the Week September 4-September 10: 10% off sale on Vanilla 2.0.1 week packs

Quick Reminder to start things off: Monday, September 4 is Labor Daybor Day. The Post office will be closed as so will we. Regular shipments will resume on Tuesday, September 5.

I realize we did Vanilla just a few weeks ago but it’s what we have the most of right now! For the next week, you can get 10% off the 21 meal “week” size of Vanilla 2.0.1. Check out the reviews of 2.0 Vanilla!

Speaking of reviews, you should check out our store reviews on Google, and the reviews of Keto Chow. Here’s a “taste”:

Eating Keto is challenging when you are not a big fan of eggs for breakfast everyday. NO OTHER shake has provided the satiety, taste and nutrition of Keto Chow. I love the chocolate; it keeps me full until my lunch break. (I work in a job where there are no breaks between breakfast at 6am and lunch at 12 noon) I love being able to easily tailor the macros/calories/fat for my specific needs. I set 1 of my 2 shaker jars on the counter after breakfast to remind me to mix up my Keto Chow after supper for the next day. Quick, easy, filling and delicious. This is a great product; so glad I found it!

Here’s another, should be noted that I publish all of the reviews that come in – bad or good – as they are, typos intact. The only ones I remove are spam posts from people wanting you to buy pills to “enhance performance” and such:

Easy to mix with a blender bottle. I love that I don’t need to worry about nutrition or supplements when I use Keto Chow. I feel much better about the Keto diet while using this to supplement one meal a day. Although, it tastes so good I could use it for all meals. But, I like to eat and it is partially a social thing.

Awesome new study: more carbs = more likely to die, higher fat = less likely to die, history of dietary guidelines

This entry is part 102 of 131 in the series Ketogenic Diet

We’re in Austin getting ready for #ketocon2017 (you can stream the presentations). Naturally, we went to get some Texas Barbecue last night. The waiter asked if we wanted the leaner cut of the brisket… “no we want the fattiest portion you can get!” because we want to live longer. Isn’t that the opposite of what everyone says? Yes, it is. Fortunately there a new study published in The Lancet showing that eating more fat correlates to longer life and that “Total fat and saturated and unsaturated fats were not significantly associated with risk of myocardial infarction or cardiovascular disease mortality.”  Not to get all confirmation bias but it is good to see another study showing the conventional wisdom is messed up.

High carbohydrate intake was associated with higher risk of total mortality, whereas total fat and individual types of fat were related to lower total mortality. Total fat and types of fat were not associated with cardiovascular disease, myocardial infarction, or cardiovascular disease mortality, whereas saturated fat had an inverse association with stroke. Global dietary guidelines should be reconsidered in light of these findings.

http://www.thelancet.com/journals/lancet/article/PIIS0140-6736(17)32252-3/abstract

The great thing about this study is the media coverage of it. People are flabbergasted that what they’ve been taught for so long is completely bogus. Which brings me to: there was a really interesting presentation by Gary Fettke regarding the ACTUAL origin of the US Dietary guidelines and their foundation in vegetarian evangelism. This is the one Gary discussed on the 2keto dudes podcast (this was the episode I listened to while driving at 3AM to Idaho to watch the eclipse – fascinating stuff, interesting enough to make me wide awake!).

Update on Update on Base Powder Availability

Earlier today I posted that it’s going to be a while before we have the printed packaging for Base Powder, then I talked about trying to get an interim solution (brown bags with thermal printed labels, kinda like the image above^) and that we might have them in a few days.

Just Kidding! Surprisingly the packaging facility pulled off an amazing feat and got us 164 of the base powder TODAY as in: it’s already in stock and available right now. Booyeah.

Update on Base Powder availability

Update: surprisingly the packaging facility pulled off an amazing feat and got us 164 of the base powder TODAY as in: it’s already in stock and available right now.

We got a nasty surprise last week: we were getting quite low on Base Powder so we asked the packaging facility how long it would be before they had the rest of the Base Powder pouches we ordered a few months ago. Blink, blink, blink. We then found out that they didn’t have any more of the bags or labels for the bags.

Crap

A few days prior I had asked the place doing our bag printing for a quote on doing full printed bags for the Base Powder, I got the quote for those right about the same time I received the bad news. So the decision was to either try to get labels printed and buy stock bags… or get bags printed. The cost was about the same so we decided getting the printed bags was the direction we planned to go anyway – So we put in an order with the bag printing place and waited for info on when it would be ready.

This morning I got the confirmation and estimated ship date, I’m hoping in a few hours I’ll get the layout proof to approve so they can start production. Anyhow, the estimated ship date for the printed bags is:

September 18, 2017 – should be easy to remember, that’s Fiestas Patrias and the day before International Talk Like a Pirate Day. After printing it’ll take a few days to arrive at our warehouse, get over to our packaging facility and start production. The most probable date we will have Base Powder available is going to be sometime right around the end of September or very beginning of October 2017. So, sorry for the bad news and the delay =(

Now to give you some hope: we’re working on a potential stop-gap solution. We have some of the old bags (as seen in the image above) we used to package the Base Powder in (shout out to the Sav-On Bags team!), we’re currently labeling an interim batch of these and we’re planning on taking them down to the packaging facility later this afternoon. Once there we’ll have to contend with scheduling – I’m unsure if it will take just a few days or if it will take a week or longer for them to get it going but, it’s going to be faster than a MONTH. Either way, we should easily have the interim packages relatively soon. As soon as I get a solid estimate of production date I’ll update this page.

My bag of Keto Chow powder came very quickly; the website was easy to use and navigate. I found the video helpful and informative. I am looking forward to see how Keto Chow works for me. I mixed up my first bottle tonight after work; will enjoy it tomorrow morning for breakfast. I did sneak a small taste before bed-delicious.

Keto Chow at the “Zombie ApocEclipse”

This entry is part 101 of 131 in the series Ketogenic Diet

Yesterday we packed up enough food (Keto Chow =), water, cash, fuel, and portable toilets to last for at least a day and drove to Idaho to watch the Eclipse. To start: yeah, it was totally worth it. If you’re around in 2024 or 2045, do not miss the next one!

We left at 02:19 and arrived at our destination just before 6 AM in Terreton, Idaho. We had originally planned to go to the exact center-line of the path of totality in the middle of nowhere but after talking with my dad, who was doing a photography workshop for the eclipse in Wyoming, we decided to use his “backup location” and try for either the High School (which was blocked off), or a church (which wasn’t blocked off, had a nice lawn to sit on, was free, AND had a bathroom we were able to use) – so we went to the church =).

The orange in the map above is when we were driving faster than 70 miles per hour (112 kph) – which actually made up the majority of the trip. In all we drove 666 miles over 11 hours and 33 minutes. If we had tried to go home through Idaho Falls it probably would have taken just as long (or longer) – and we got to see Craters of the Moon National Monument as well.

Anyhow, how does Keto Chow fit into this? I brought along 8 meals of Keto Chow in a cooler, enough to last myself and my wife for 4 meals each. We ended up having two each. They were easy to pack and I didn’t have any worry at all about finding keto friendly food. Salted Caramel was quite tasty after a morning spent waiting for the eclipse!

This is the shortened version of the 360 video I recorded yesterday – only 4 minutes long. Covers about a minute before totality, totality and just after.

Please participate in the 2017 “Complete Food” Survey.

This entry is part 3 of 131 in the series Ketogenic Diet

Please take 5-15 minutes to answer some questions about Keto Chow and any other “complete foods” you’ve tried.

For the last few years, there’s been a yearly survey to get some additional information about (s)oylent type foods, including Keto Chow. If you have a couple minutes, please participate in the survey. There are a bunch of coupon codes at the end (including $10 off Keto Chow) and your responses will help give insight into where we should be heading. Last year I was able to get some really interesting data in my own analysis (you can check that out here: Results from soylent eater’s survey – keto and gender analysis)

Here is the survey: https://www.surveybuilder.com/s/okZgK

New this year: we’re running a contest to help find a name for the industry. We’re offering a $1000 prize to the first person to suggest a name that captures people’s imagination. If you don’t want to take the full survey and would prefer to only participate in the naming contest, that’s here.

I am so glad I found keto chow. I am starting a major weighloss / lifestyle change journey. I am a mom of 2 and my hubby and I work total opposite schedules and to be honest I suck at meal prep. I knew in order to make this change and succeed I would need something quick, easy and yummy and I found all those things in keto chow. I am a huge fan!

Here’s another, should be noted that I publish all of the reviews that come in – bad or good – as they are, typos intact. The only ones I remove are spam posts from people wanting you to buy pills to “enhance performance” and such:

My husband and I have found the one thing that is making it so much easier to figure out and stay in ketosis! We have found something that makes all the difference in the world for newbie “keto-ers”! What is the secret yu ask? Keto Chow! We have loved it so much we are recommending and buyint the sample pack for all of our friends who are now asking us what we are doing to lose our weight. Some say they have tried it but have a hard time sticking to it past five days. This is exactly what happened to us until we found Keto Chow! This product has made life so simple and so enjoyable to stay on that we have both make it to the 2 month mark and 20 pounds lighter! Our favorites are chocolate peanut butter, and strawberry. We love to mix berries in with the strawberry and feel like we are still getting our fruit fix. The chocolate peanut butter tastes so good we feel like we are still getting our Reese’s fix. Thank you Keto Chow for helping me to stay on the Keto Diet to truly change mine and my husband’s life!

Happy Eclipse Day! Dunno about you, but I’ll be headed to Idaho for the “Zombie Apocalypse” with a cooler full of food (mostly Keto Chow), extra 22 gallons of fuel, and a portable toilet =) Big shout out to our employees that will be shipping out orders!
