Flavor of the Week June 18-June 24: 10% off sale on Chocolate Peanut Butter 2.1 Week Packs

Pop quiz: Anybody know what my favorite flavor of Keto Chow is? Here’s a hint. But hey, you don’t have to take my word for it, check out the flavor reviews of 2.1 Chocolate Peanut Butter!  For the next week, you can get 10% off the 21 meal “week” size of Chocolate Peanut Butter 2.1. We unfortunately still haven’t received the sample size of Chocolate Peanut Butter yet. It’s all ready to go at the packaging place, they apparently have a backlog of jobs and are trying to fit ours in – it may still be 1-2 more weeks before we have the Peanut Butter samples ready.

Speaking of reviews, you should check out our reviews on Google, and the reviews of Keto Chow. Here’s a “taste”:

LIQUID GOLD. I can’t even believe how good this stuff is. I’ve literally been checking the website every day, waiting for the new flavors to come out–but in the meantime, Choc PB is just amazing. No aftertaste, amazing texture, just delicious!

Here’s another, should be noted that I publish all of the reviews that come in – bad or good – as they are, typos intact. The only ones I remove are spam posts from people wanting you to buy pills to “enhance performance” and such:

Amazing as always. Chris and his team deliver the best grade A+ product every time. Tastes good, and fast shipping.

For Reasies: Raspberry Cheesecake Keto Chow 2.1 now available

So earlier today I said “unless by some miracle the COA arrives in the next hour or so and they are able to run the batch up to us”

Apparently, that happened.

So: without any more delay, I’m happy to announce that Raspberry Cheesecake is available and in-stock, ready for purchase!

No Raspberry Cheesecake Keto Chow today – wasn’t done testing =(

Here’s an update:

So earlier today I said “unless by some miracle the COA arrives in the next hour or so and they are able to run the batch up to us”

Apparently, that happened.

So: without any more delay, I’m happy to announce that Raspberry Cheesecake is available and in-stock, ready for purchase!

Man, this is why I don’t like telling people when stuff will arrive and why we don’t put stuff up for sale until we have the actual packages in-hand!

The delivery driver just came with what we thought was a bunch of Raspberry Cheesecake plus a few bags of Chicken Soup for testing. Nope! It was Salted Caramel, some Vanilla and a bit of Chocolate Peanut Butter. Turns out the microbiological testing COA wasn’t ready yet so they couldn’t bring it up to us. It’s important, OK? It tells you there isn’t any bacteria contaminating the batch and is required to be completed before they can release it (it’s better than getting people sick and having to do a recall). Being a dry powder like Keto Chow, the likelihood of there being a bad result is slim-to-none but it has to be completed.

So we’re not getting the Raspberry Cheesecake today (unless by some miracle the COA arrives in the next hour or so and they are able to run the batch up to us). The likely scenario is we will get it along with the Savory Chicken Soup and possibly the Orange Cream on Tuesday, June 19.

Feel free to cry in a corner, I’ll be there with you.

Raspberry Cheesecake: tomorrow, Savory Chicken Soup: coming June 19 (unless you visit us at KetoCon!)

The plan® for Keto Chow 2.1 was to get the 8 original flavors and launch right into the 10 new flavors with Savory Chicken Soup arriving first. Apparently, the schedule got a little messed up and we’re going to be getting Raspberry Cheesecake tomorrow morning (like: a lot). I’m going to bring all the stuff with me to work tomorrow so I can quality control the new batch immediately and get it up for sale ASAP. Expect to see it less than 24 hours from now. Yep!

There was some uncertainty as to when we would be getting the Savory Chicken Soup flavor of Keto Chow: would it arrive tomorrow before we left for KetoCon? Would it arrive after we left and not go up for sale until we returned?

Turns out it’s the latter. I just talked with the guys that are packaging the large 21 meal “week” bags of the savory chicken soup. They aren’t going to have any substantial quantity ready by tomorrow so the plan is for them to bring several pallets of not only the Savory Chicken Soup but also possibly Orange Cream. Expect to see that/those when we return from Texas on June 19.

It’s sad we won’t get the chicken tomorrow, but at least there’s that good news too!

Now for the fun part: we will be getting a very small number of the Savory Chicken Soup bags by courier tomorrow so we can take a few with us to KetoCon. If you’re going to be in Austin for KetoCon this Friday-Sunday, come visit us at our booth (#407)! I don’t know if we’re going to be able to pull off having mixed savory chicken soup for tasting at the booth, but we will have a few bags there with us.

Flavor of the Week June 11-June 17: 10% off sale on Vanilla 2.1 week packs

Yeh, I realize we just did vanilla 3 weeks ago, but it’s what we have the most of. For the next week, you can get 10% off the 21 meal “week” size of Vanilla 2.1. Check out the reviews of 2.1 Vanilla! When you get into the shopping cart you’ll notice that the options for shipping have changed a lot. Depending on how much you’re ordering an where you’re located there will usually be faster and slower options that cost less! (even international shipping has additional options!). I’ll do a more in-depth post about it later.

Speaking of reviews (before I started rambling about shipping), you should check out our store reviews on Google, and the reviews of Keto Chow. Here’s a “taste”:

Strawberry 2.1 Is Wonderful! Actually, it’s not wonderful – it’s addictive. I finished my first Strawberry 2.1 shake and immediately wanted another. The combination of the “just right” consistency and the perfect flavor (for me) of strawberry is indescribable. All I know is that strawberry will forever more be one of the flavors I buy/“eat” regularly. Ya knocked it out of the park, Chris! Thank you so much for that … and for Keto Chow in general (cause there is also goodness/happy taste buds in Vanilla and Banana 2.1)

Here’s another, should be noted that I publish all of the reviews that come in – bad or good – as they are, typos intact. The only ones I remove are spam posts from people wanting you to buy pills to “enhance performance” and such. This review happens to come from our Facebook page:

I’m not on a keto diet, at least not yet. Rather, I wanted something convenient that would also be filling while I attempt to keep my blood sugar under control and not antagonize issues I have after losing my gallbladder. And it had to be non-tortuous to consume. Not a simple task. In the search for a meal replacement shake that could help me, I discovered Keto Chow. I ordered some sample packs to try and I was more that surprised…

Keto Chow, as it turns out, checks all my boxes.

I can prep it the night before and it’s ready for when I need it, which is great. The flavor gets better and doesn’t suffer, like some other shakes, with that time to sit. But if I’m in a rush, letting it sit for a half hour works. You do have to let it sit for optimal flavor, but that’s not hard.
I feel full after consuming it for a substantial amount of time afterwards, which keeps me from snacking on things that otherwise goof me up.
My blood sugar is freakin’ stable! (HUZZAH!)

And, in regards to not having a gallbladder and little TMI — I have dumping syndrome. But I’m free of having to be near a bathroom when I eat Keto Chow. Yes, even with the high fat content from the heavy cream. I can’t guess how other people who lack a gallbladder and have this issue will respond, but I get dumping syndrome mostly from sugars/carbs, seemingly not solely fat content. I think Keto Chow’s protein content and use of Acacia Gum for fiber all works for me here but this is anecdotal theory. I have had other shakes that send me over the edge and into a deep state of regret 30 minutes post consumption. Keto Chow had no such issues, even when I drank two meals in a day. Keto Chow for the win.

Over my little trial period with Keto Chow I had some initial issues with how delicious it is. I eat when I’m hungry, not to snack, so it’s exceptionally deceiving to me that I’m actually not drinking a milkshake or other goodie. It took me awhile to kind of ‘trust’ it wasn’t going to put me in danger of adopting another chin, entering a diabetic coma, or having an Al Roker In The White House level incident.

Frankly, eating Keto Chow can feel like borderline gluttony and that I’m getting away with something, which is pretty humorous.

I highly advise trying the flavors first. I found some flavors to be more to my liking than I thought I would. Now I’m excited to try the other flavors coming out, too, and buy a larger quantity to keep stocked up on this.

To the people at Keto Chow — just keep up the good work. This is a delicious product and it’s really a convenient meal replacement. This works for so much more than just strict keto, in part because it’s well made and yummy.

Sous-Vide setup from the Instagram Live video yesterday

Yesterday I did an Instagram Live video where I was prepping 20lbs of pork spare ribs that I’m going to have for the Utah Keto Meat-up this weekend. Near the end of the broadcast, my phone went wonky so the first 4/5 of the video did not get posted to my Instagram Story, nor to the KetoChow Facebook page. It was sad =(Anyhow, here’s the setup:

  • Bunch of ribs. Got them from Costco
  • Some seasoning, I was using “montreal steak” seasoning I got from Sams-Club in a giant shaker – doesn’t have any sugar and it has a lot of salt.
  • Bunch of gallon zip-loc bags. You can use a vacuum sealer but this works just fine too.
  • A Cooler – allows you to exceed the manufacturer’s recommendations for maximum volume of water. Means you can cook more meat at the same time and it is easier on the sous-vide too. It’ll need a 2 3/8 inch hole cut into the lid.
  • an Ikea rack
  • a Sous-vide – I’m using the old Bluetooth Anova because it works fine, the Monoprice one is a good choice too
  • This Ikea pot lid organizer works great to keep your stuff sorted.

I cut each slab of ribs in half and seasoned them, put them into the ziploc bags and then pushed them under water to get (most of) the air out), then those all went into the cooler of hot water where they are hanging out for 3 days. It’s very much like how I made Sous-Video Brisket.

Flavor of the Week June 4-June 10: 10% off sale on Salted Caramel 2.1 week packs

For the next week, you can get 10% off the 21 meal “week” size of Salted Caramel 2.1. Check out the flavor reviews of 2.1 Salted Caramel! Don’t forget that we now offer free ground shipping to the contiguous 48 United States for orders over $200.

Speaking of reviews, you should check out our store reviews on Google, and the reviews of Keto Chow. Here’s a “taste”:

I received a prompt text message that my order was ready for pickup. Had no issues picking it up. The ketochow seems to really help supress my hunger and prevent headaches and fatigue.

(If you’re near our warehouse in South Jordan, Utah – local pickup is one of the available shipping options). Here’s another review, it should be noted that I publish all of the reviews that come in – bad or good – as they are, typos intact. The only ones I remove are spam posts from people wanting you to buy pills to “enhance performance” and such:

I have fallen in love with KetoChow. Honestly, the best tasting and easy to implement meal supplement/protien shake. Not only do Chris and his team ensure that’s its tastey, they also pack it with vitamins and the minerals that Ketoers need. Also I love the customer service they provide, on the web and on Reddit, its pretty awesome to easily ask questions or get feedback from Chris or his team.

Free US Ground Shipping for orders over $200, Subscriptions now available

We finally have everything set up and ready so we can offer free UPS ground shipping for orders over $200 within the contiguous 48 United States (sorry Hawaii and Alaska ? – UPS calls it “ground” shipping but it’s not and they charge way too much for it). Getting the discount is easy: just add $200 worth of product to your shopping cart and select the Free Ground Shipping option. May I make a suggestion though: If you order 4 or more of the 21 meal “week” bags, you’ll get a 5% bulk discount, plus free shipping (again – if you live in the 48 contiguous United States). That’s a Win-Win! =)

We have boxes that’ll handle up to 8 of the large 21 meal packages of Keto Chow at a time, and if you go really nuts and order more than 8, we’ll just split up the order. One thing to note is that this is shipping via UPS Ground, meaning that it’s going to take longer to arrive compared to US Priority Mail – especially for those on the east coast. Here’s the actual transit time map:

Getting the ground shipping set up was the final element holding back rolling out subscriptions too. So let’s do it! We’ve actually had the Subscriptions Page in the store for a few weeks but it had a bunch of warnings not to use it just yet. Starting now you can go right ahead and order a subscription to be shipped to you every month. It should be noted that subscriptions live in an alternate universe where any other sales or discounts don’t exist. You’ll get the same flavor(s) for the same price(s) each time unless you cancel the subscription and make a new one. Yeah, that’s a pain but I haven’t found a way around it yet. PLEASE NOTE: you can’t use Amazon Pay or Visa Checkout with subscriptions. If you are creating a subscription and check out using Amazon Pay or Visa Checkout, it will not create a recurring subscription like it’s supposed to. You’ve been warned! =) Rather it’ll create the subscription and charge your payment method for the first month, but next month you’ll get an email asking you to put in a different payment method before the subscription renews.

Here’s where it gets fun:

  • Subscriptions get 5% off
  • You also can get 5% off if you order 4 or more
  • You also can get free ground shipping since those 4+ will put you into that bucket too!

Hey, it’s pretty much the best way to order Keto Chow!

New Keto Chow Fasting Drops, update on 2.1 roll-out: samples and new flavors

I’m very happy to announce a new product: Keto Chow Fasting Drops. It’s a concentrated electrolyte solution made from Utah’s Great Salt Lake (just to the North of where we’re located!). When you are fasting, it’s exceptionally important to keep your electrolyte levels up. Most people will use different forms of salt with sea salt being a good choice due to the additional trace minerals it contains. Problem is: using even a high-quality sea salt, you are only mostly getting sodium with almost no potassium or magnesium. Fasting Drops are high in magnesium and potassium, with a good level of sodium too.

  • NO sugars, calories, caffeine or artificial ingredients
  • Safe for hydration packs. Will not stain or leave a residue
  • Allows for flexible dosing – at the recommended dose, most do not detect any flavor, those doing fasting will often do 3-4x dose.

For those sensitive to the mineral flavor, add lemon or lime juice.  it comes in two sizes:

  1. The small “Pocket Flask” with enough concentrate for 2.5 gallons of water
  2. The large 250ml/8.3 oz “Refill” size with enough concentrate for 25 gallons of water, plus it also includes a free empty Pocket Flask bottle!

Now, on to the Keto Chow 2.1 status update! The powder to make all the samples for all 18 flavors is nearly done being made and will shortly be on the way to the place that does the packaging. The best estimate we have is that the sample packaging will start sometime around June 19-22, which is unfortunate because it means it’ll happen AFTER KetoCon =(. If the samples do indeed go into production as planned, I expect we will have samples of all 18 flavors arriving just before the end of June.

The large bags of the new flavors will come in over a month or so with Savory Chicken Soup likely arriving in early June, with the remaining flavors coming in according to the schedule.

Flavor of the Week May 28-June 3: 10% off sale on Base Powder

For the next week, you can get 10% off the 21 meal “week” size of Keto Chow Base Powder. What’s “Base Powder”? Check out this post! The short version is: you add a little scoop to your chosen protein powder and it makes Keto Chow, with all the vitamins, minerals, etc… Want to save even more? Order exactly 5, 13 or 18 and get an additional 5% off – this is how many Base Powder packages fit into our standard boxes. If you order 7 or 19 or another number other than those EXACT quantities, you won’t get the 5% (and shipping will cost more).

Here’s the part where I say: you should check out our store reviews on Google, and the reviews of Keto Chow. Here’s a “taste”:

Easy check out pricess and the item I bought showed up quick. Keto Chow is the best tasting, low carb shake I have tried. Really good flavor ( bought the chocolate and add PB2 to change it up if I want)

Here’s another, should be noted that I publish all of the reviews that come in – bad or good – as they are, typos intact. The only ones I remove are spam posts from people wanting you to buy pills to “enhance performance” and such:

Currently going through my first package of Base Powder, and first try using KetoChow as a meal replacement in busy days.
The packaging, instructions and general presentation are absolutely top-notch. I was pleasantly surprised with how everything comes well together, and mixing it is a cinch.
I do need more time to give a complete review about the product itself, but so far, the meals I have subbed with KC have been amazingly great. I haven`t felt weakness or undue hunger yet at all.
Lastly, the customer experience has been nothing short of perfect. The initial contact during purchase was swift and polite, and the package arrived halfway across the world in jaw-dropping time.
So far, I`m convinced to be a long term customer of KC!
