Tangy Barbecue Sauce and Country Style Ribs
Ingredients
- 2 pounds country style pork ribs
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp pepper
- 1/2 cup water
- 1 serving Beef Soup Base Keto Chow (or 1 scoop)
- 1 tbsp garlic powder
- 2 tbsp apple cider vinegar
- 3 tbsp sugar-free ketchup
- 3 tbsp brown sugar style granulated sweetener
- 2 tbsp coconut aminos or soy sauce
- 1 tbsp liquid smoke plus 1 tsp
- 1 tbsp deli style mustard
- 2 tsp salt
Instructions
- Season the ribs with salt and pepper and bake covered at 300F for 2 hours.
- While the ribs are baking, make the barbecue sauce.
- In a small saucepan, whisk together water, Keto Chow, garlic powder, vinegar, ketchup, sweetener, coconut aminos or soy sauce, liquid smoke, mustard, and salt. Warm over low heat, whisking constantly just until it begins to look clear and gently simmer. Set aside to cool.
- When the ribs have cooked for two hours, remove them from the oven and carefully uncover them.
- Raise the temperature on the oven to 375F.
- Brush or mop the ribs all over with a generous layer of barbecue sauce. Place them back in the oven and bake for another 20 minutes or until they are browned.
- Serve with extra barbecue sauce and a side of coleslaw.

Excellent recipe. I did enjoy the ribs. If you want a spin on the flavor, substitute apple cider vinegar with balsamic vinegar.
Any way to rescue this if you accidentally boiled the ketochow? I was able to break it down into small lumps by breaking my immersion blender. My fault, but most expensive bbq sauce ever. Smells good, though. I’m just going to strain out the small lumps and hope, but for future reference…tricks to fixing boiled chow? Thanks.
We haven’t experienced that but sounds like your solution will work.
