I was skeptical how this was going to taste, but I ordered a sample and was amazed that it really tasted like root beer!
I had gotten this in the sample package and kept putting it off because I had a feeling I wasnt going to like it. I based that on the fact that I really loved root beer floats with rich vanilla ice cream and A&W root beer and I knew this wouldnt compare. And I was right. I mixed it with heavy whipping cream...added a couple drops of Stevia...and still could not finish it. But if I hadnt had such high expectations it probably would have been okay.
Solid flavor. Definitely like a blended root beer float. The root beer flavor does seem to diminish or fade away while drinking though. Not one I'd buy a full bag of, but enjoyable and delicious nonetheless.
I was really surprised with this one. I like root beer enough, but it's never something I would choose first. But as a shake, this was awesome! It's a mix of salty, creamy and sweet. Sleeper hit from the sampler pack.
The Root Beer Float 2.1 flavor is a delightful surprise! I did not expect this one to be anything special. For some reason, I thought the root beer element couldn't possibly be strong enough. But it is! This flavor feels like a total treat to me.
Fat source: 66 cc heavy cream
Immediately on mixing: My first thought was that picture of Slavoj Zizek wearing the Bartleby the Scrivener shirt ("I would prefer not to") (https://i.kym-cdn.com/photos/images/newsfeed/001/143/752/368.png). Distinct root beer flavor, but also very salty tasting - not two things I'm used to in the same beverage.
After sitting in the fridge overnight: Saltiness is much less noticeable, and the root beer float flavor is accordingly truer. I drank it but it didn't thrill me or anything.
Verdict: I would buy maybe 3 individual meal packets to switch things up from time to time, but it's not something I'd want regularly enough to justify buying a whole 21 day week pack of.
